House of Mountain are a New Zealand rock band formed in Christchurch in 2011.
It was founded by keys player Ben Campbell and front-man Moses Robbins following a year long project of creative exploration, recording, jamming and art. Bass player Kurt Preston was the natural selection as he had been involved in each step of the musical development and singer/songwriter Jed Parsons was recruited shortly after it was discovered he played drums.
The band began by playing tour support around the South Island following the quakes that destroyed most of Christchurch’s live venues. This saw the group play more than 50 shows in under a year and develop a strong live set.
House of Mountain are yet to release any official content aside from anecdotal skits and photos online and some limited edition merchandise at shows.
"House of Mountain possess a brooding, psychedelic urgency which they barely manage to contain behind a strong foundation of song-writing sensibility. Sexy & kind of twisted, these guys rock!"
